In preparation for a serious attempt at a Post 9/11 DG campaign, hopefully to involve as many people as I can get to play.
Better get the train rolling then

4th edition dead?

Gentle men, we now have people in three countries, only two of whom are actually within two hours drive of each other.
Frankly, tabletop games look like a thing of the past to me, now, I’ve seen some _excellent_ games run by email.
However, seeing as I spent a hundred quid on gaming materials, and a tank of petrol everytime I’m back, not to mention hours of preparation time per game, I’d like to know it’s actually worth my time putting that effort in.
So, I’d actually like to see if anyone’s reading this.
Hit the comment button.
Failing that. Sod it.

WHAT YOU KNOW
June 23rd, 2008 · No Comments
This is a quick explanation of what your characters should know.
Your home village is a days cart-ride to the west of Winters-haven, a small collection of buildings huddled under the boughs of the Greenguard forest. To the West and north lie the Cairngorms, steep mountains with few high passes, and none that aren’t controlled by giants or goblins. Or Worse.
Half a days walk east of you, is the Keep of Winters-haven, it has lived up to it’s name once in living memory, when winter woves and giants came down from the mountains twenty years ago, all the surrounding villages fled to theĀ walls of Winters-haven, and Lord Padraig’s men held the foemen at bay.
Beyond that, lies the city of Fallcrest, where the Red Lady holds sway; the dragon who controls all these lands. Every five years, the Dragontithe is gathered, fully one tenth of all goods produced by every person within the Dragon March is tithed to the Red Lady, lest she take to the wing and burn down the offending village. As much produce cannot often be preserved for that long, every fifth year is often a lean one.
Beyond FallCrest, are the Iron Mountains, home of the dwarves, beyond that, no man knows.
To the South, the Greenguard continues, and many small villages are dotted beneath the bows, all breaking their backs to ensure the good will of Blazing Crest, the Dragon Queen. Those who displease her, are often found killed by her Dragon Knights, invulnerable soldiers who enforce her will. All platinum found is to be turned over to the Dragon Knights to form her bed.
Across the lands, the ruins of former settlements can be found, places where the Dragons Ire has fallen. Although BlazingCrest has forbidden their excavation, there are those who choose to unearth them, looking for treasures or relics of the past.
